Club Managers & Parents,

Please be advised that the County Extension Office will be hosting the Cherokee County Jr. Hay Judging Competition on WEDNESDAY, October 14, 2015.  The competition will be held in the exhibit hall of the Cherokee County Exposition Center on the South Loop in Jacksonville.

The contest schedule is as follows:

FFA ……… 9:00 – 11:30 AM

4-H ………  1:00 –  2:30 PM

The individual 4-H competitor with the highest cumulative score will receive a $1000.00 collegiate scholarship to be awarded at the County Hay Show on October 20^th.  Also, the three 4-H teams with the highest cumulative team scores will receive plaques and recognition during the Hay Show.  The Hay Show dinner and all scholarships & awards are provided by the Ag Business Committee of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE = OCTOBER 2nd

Club Mangers/Project Leaders,

To register, please reply to this email sending the names of your competitors listed in order by team no later than 5PM, October 2^nd.   I have to have the names of all the competitors at this time to allow me to contact their schools and verify their academic eligibility.  Also, team member substitutions WILL be allowed on the date of the contest; however, only from the names previously submitted and grade-checked.  As 4-H is officially sanctioned as a UIL organization by every school district in Cherokee County,  all competitors will receive excused absences to attend the competition but only if their names are submitted by the October 2^nd  deadline.
